Looking to Chat with Any Law Enforcement Officers
#1
Hello nasties,

My co-founder and I are developing a machine learning platform that will help police officers better respond to violent crime.

Looking to chat with current or former law enforcement officers to better understand their needs, concerns, and pain points regarding the process of "catching bad guys" and protecting the citizenry.

Please let me know if any of you coppers might be open to a quick 20 minute phone chat.

Thanks!

You think you can solve the blight of the police officer with a 20 minute phone call? Whenever I have a rough day with bad guys I just change my socks and sip water.

This place is on life support.

You want to understand their "needs"? Paint your face black and run a red light. Fuck the police!

There, that should breath a little life into this mausoleum.

*Edit: Damn all my posts are gone. Guess the forum has been refreshed some time over the last 7 years. Welp, see ya fucks in another 7 years.

Not at all, but a series of 20 minute conversations will provide us with a deeper understanding of your concerns and problem areas so that we make sure that we build the right solution that really helps officers, not just another "ShotSpotter" that is expensive but of limited utility.

Any chance you'd be willing to chat?

Aren't violent crime rates lower than ever for the most part? I think in the last two years they've gone up but crime is still pretty low in most areas except for a few urban centers here and there.

You should pay him for his time. I think 20 bucks per 20 minute conversation should work. Have you talked to the local cops in your area?

Yes, I have - but soliciting the input of potential users requires a diverse perspective from a wide representative sample.

Re: being paid, I've been sending interviewees a Starbucks gift card as a token of appreciation - but hey, building a startup in no income mode man! Marines hook each other up, right?

Sunman is legit, he sent me foodstuffs for a past survey I took for one of his classes (I believe).
He's trying to get insight on the topic at hand from various people who deal with the shit daily. I say if you have time and can talk to him do it, if not don't.

I seriously doubt he thinks one 20 min. conversation with one LEO will solve the problem at hand, but at least its a stepping stone and someone who goes beyond 'fuck the police!' As a response to everything.
You'll have to speak up, I'm not wearing any pants.

Sun, I am guessing you looked at IBM safe cities platform before you jumped into this already but worth a look if not.

Also PM'd you some additional help as payback for the gift card.

No it isn't. He's making mandatory annual Marinenet-ish courses for cops. They probably hate his fucking guts.
